Suffolk LPC Contractor Survey Results 2021

We are pleased to report a good response to the contractor survey (survey closed 30th April 2021) with over 40% of contractors replying and an overall rated ‘value’ of the LPC at 4.26 out of 5 stars. This was a representative sample of contractors reflecting the ratio of CCA, Independents, AIM and DSP pharmacies across Suffolk. All pharmacies reported having an active NHS email account and indicated that email was the best method of contact, although use of social media was more variable.

Pharmacies are disseminating LPC information with their teams often and an overwhelming majority of contractors know how to contact the LPC team if needed.

Overall the survey showed that community pharmacy contractors value the work of the LPC team and feel that they are represented effectively to local healthcare and other relevant bodies.

Contractors indicated that they supported the existing priorities of the LPC with a steer towards promotion of services to the public. Top priorities for social media messaging were flu and COVID-19 vaccinations, along with help with minor ailments. DMS and GP CPCS were the top two highlighted services requesting increased support. More detailed consideration will be given to how we deliver significant contractor updates and focus our service support post-Covid. This will need to be an evolving plan as restrictions ease in our area.

The specific results relating to service support will also be used to facilitate discussions with Public Health, NHSE and local systems in order to maintain and enhance the services that contractors value the most.

Your feedback is vital in ensuring that your LPC represents your interests to the best of our ability. We will be reflecting on these results during our business plaining sessions and in preparation for the Annual General Meeting in September 2021.
